VALON TARINAT translates to "The Tales of Light" - which is what photography is in its essence - capturing how light interacts with subjects and shows their unique character. Inspired by Finnish nature and my point of view as an artist and a scientist, I have delved into how optics really works, how silver halides interact with light photons and what a digital camera does behind the scenes.
Light travels millions of kilometres from our Sun and interacts with objects it encounters on its way before hitting the sensor or film. This long journey is a tale that the photographer writes down to freeze a unique fleeting moment. What stories do you hear when looking at my works?
